It’s almost impossible not to feel good when we’re walking outdoors – it’s a natural mood-booster! And the great news is we don’t need to walk far or fast to feel its effects on our health and wellbeing. Simply getting out is a tonic for our minds and bodies, and it can be sociable too.
Almost all of us can manage a stroll, and Ramblers Wellbeing Walks make it easier to start walking and stay active. And you’ll certainly never be short of good company.
So why not take the first steps and join Sandhurst Health Walks - it's free!
Please allow a few minutes for your registration before start time of any walk.

Steps to Fitness
Monday to Friday
09:15 for 09:30 start
Sandhurst Community Hall, GU47 9BJ
This walk has been established to help those who have long-term illnesses or are returning from injury or are recovering from surgery. The walks leave at the same time as the main week day walks but will cover a much shorter distance and at a much slower pace. You will have your own walk leader who will encourage you and ensure your safety and well-being at all times. The terrain is flat and paved with opportunities to take a rest should you need to. You will never be rushed nor made to feel that you are holding anyone up.
The emphasis on these walks is to get you back into walking again and making roads to becoming fitter. It is not a substitute for any programme you have been asked to follow by your healthcare professional. If you have a long-term illness or are recovering from injury or surgery, it is of the utmost importance that you have permission from your health professional to come on the walks and you must be able to walk unaided or with a stick (unless you are joining the walk in a wheelchair in which case you will need to be able to propel yourself or bring a carer along who can wheel you).
After the walk some of us go to Pistachios in The Park, for coffee, tea or juice; and we are always assured of a warm welcome by Parm and his team. All are welcome to come along for drinks after the walk, so remember to bring some cash or a card with you if you wish to join us!
We will all meet together with the other walkers because we believe that one day soon, you will be joining them, so it's good to get to know people!

Week Day Walks
Monday to Friday
09:15 for 09:30 start
Sandhurst Community Hall, GU47 9BJ
This is our most popular and well-attended walk. The ground is mostly even but tree roots, stumps and other trip hazards need to be negotiated and unpaved parts of the footpath become muddy and slippery after rain. This walk also runs along the River Blackwater for the most part and the footpaths may flood after prolonged periods of rain.
After the walk some of us go to Pistachios in The Park, for coffee, tea or juice; and we are always assured of a warm welcome by Parm and his team. All are welcome to come along for drinks after the walk, so remember to bring some pennies with you if you wish to join us!
